De Gea - 7
Didn't have much to do in the first half but came off his line well to snuff
out any City chance. Will be happy he didn't really have a save to make.
Valencia - 7
Started well before being booked for waist-high challenge on Fernando. Might
have got forward more often but defended well.
Shaw - 6 (歡迎回歸!!!)
Beaten by Jesus Navas in the first minute to create a good chance for
Iheanacho and struggled for the rest of the first half. Much better after
half-time when he got tighter to Navas.
Blind - 7
Marshalled a makeshift back four very well, even though he did have to play
on the right because of Rojo's inclusion. Good comeback after his problems at
Chelsea on Sunday.
Rojo - 8 (!!!!!!!)
Given a chance with both Bailly and Smalling out and made one fantastic
challenge on Iheanacho in the first half. Looked rusty occasionally but
didn't put a foot wrong.
Carrick - 7
Looked comfortable even when City's midfield tried to rush him off the ball.
Did enough to suggest he should be given a run in the team starting with
Burnley on Saturday.
Herrera - 7
Was one of the few United players who seemed keen to press City in the first
half and benefited from everyone else joining in after half-time. Looked
good.
Pogba - 6
Started in what is supposed to be his ideal position, on the left of a
midfield three. Should have scored early in the second half during United's
spell on top.
Mata - 7
Clever run inside to give himself a tap-in to put United in front shortly
after half-time. Sacrificed midway through the first half for Schneiderlin as
Mourinho tried to hold what he had.
Rashford - 8
United's most dangerous player for the 80 minutes he was on the pitch. Was
allowed to hug the touchline and run at Pablo Maffeo and was unlucky not to
score.
Ibrahimovic - 6
Saw one half-chance deflected over the bar but gave the ball away a lot in
the first half. Had Mourinho waving his arms about in frustration at one
point. Much better in the second half and key in Mata's goal.
Substitutes
Schneiderlin (for Mata 72) - 6
Brought on as Mourinho shut up shop.
Lingard: (for Rashford 81) - 6
Worked hard.
Not used: Romero, Darmian, Memphis, Young, Fellaini
