Romelu Lukaku impresses on bad night
Man Utd player Romelu Lukaku impress vs Bristol City in their Carabao Cup
quarter-final loss at Ashton Gate.
Sergio Romero - 6
Bristol targeted him in air but coped well and made some crucial stops from
Magnusson. Could do little for goals.
Matteo Darmian - 5
First start since that dismal performance against Basel and was exposed as
the game wore on.
Victor Lindelof - 6
So brilliantly composed compared to a nervy showing in the previous round
down at Swansea. But caught for goal.
Marcos Rojo - 5
Unrecognisable without the bandage! Seriously outpaced for Bryan's shock
opener but recovered somewhat.
Luke Shaw - 6
Caught out of position a couple of times but, encouragingly, tracked back to
prevent further damage. Brownhill was a handful.
Daley Blind - 5
A surprise run out in midfield and was caught in possession a number of
times. But, minutes after heading off the line, made one brilliant recovering
tackle on Reid.
Scott McTominay - 6
Second start in a week and was hounded throughout. Eyes lit up with two long
shots but blazed over. Kept things short and simple.
Paul Pogba - 6
Missed during his three-match ban but a frustrating night where little came
off for him following an early battle with Pack. One lovely run before
shooting wide.
Marcus Rashford - 6
Two goals and two assists in the Carabao Cup up until this point and struck
the post with a brilliant long-range effort. Frustrating second-half.
Anthony Martial - 6
United's main attacking outlet given how congested it was through the middle.
Lots of jinking runs and tricks and one great cross for Ibrahimovic.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic - 6
First start since the injury that could have ended his career, but the
stand-in skipper struggled. Before a trademark response. Wow.
Subs
Lukaku (61') - 7
Stung Steele's palms with one brilliant long-range effort and another header.
So dangerous. Changed United's attack.
Mkhitaryan (69') - 6
First appearance for nearly a month and fans roared him on.
