The Dallas Mavericks did not agree to a four-year deal with Wesley Matthews
worth well over $50 million with the expectation that he would be ready for
the start of the regular season.


小牛和馬修簽下一紙4年超過50M的合約時，
並沒有期待他開季就能夠上場。


Matthews tore his left Achilles tendon less than four months ago, an injury
suffered in an early March game against the Mavs. The shooting guard known as
“Iron Man” is considered to be well ahead of schedule and is determined to
play in the Mavs’ season opener.


馬修的阿基里斯腱在不到四個月前對上小牛的比賽中撕裂了，
他一向以"鋼鐵人"的外號聞名，而且恢復狀況比預期的好，
並想要在趕上小牛開季的比賽。


However, owner Mark Cuban is preaching caution, emphasizing that the Mavs
recruited Matthews with long-term goals in mind.


但是小牛的老闆庫班一再強調，
小牛簽來馬修是有個長遠的規劃的。


“We’re not putting a timetable on it,” Cuban said Friday on 1310 The
Ticket. “Like I told Wes, if he opens up with camp, great. If he starts the
season, great. If he misses 30 games, great. I don’t care because we didn’t
sign him for this year.


Cuban在星期五上節目時表示，
"我們不會特別規劃一個日程表，就像我對馬修說的：
如果他能在訓練營時出賽，很好；
如果他能趕上開季，很好；
如果他必須要缺席30場比賽，還是很好；
因為我不在乎這些因為我們簽他來不只是為了這個球季。"



“We signed him because having Chandler [Parsons], having DeAndre [Jordan]
and having Wes Matthews, that’s a great young core. And so the goal isn’t
to try to rush them: ‘Oh my goodness, we might miss something.’ It’s
really to get them all healthy, which we know we can, and have them playing
together and be something special for a lot of years as opposed to being
worrying about the first 30 games of this season.”


"我們會和馬修簽約，是因為有了CP25、DAJ，還有馬修，
這就足以構成一個年輕的核心，
所以我們的目標並不是急著趕他們上場。
雖然可能有人會說我們將錯過一些東西，
但是確保他們都很健康 (我們知道可以做到的)，

Parsons is recovering from a serious surgery that repaired cartilage damage
in his right knee, an injury that caused him to miss all but the first game
of Dallas’ first-round playoff loss to the Houston Rockets.


CP25才正從嚴重的左膝軟骨傷害的修復手術中復原，
這個傷也讓他缺席了季後賽除了G1以外對上火箭的系列賽。


Parsons also is progressing well in rehab and has said that he considers
playing in the season opener to be a realistic goal. He rehabbed with
Matthews recently while in Los Angeles to recruit the Mavs’ two prized
free-agent additions.


CP25的復原狀況也相當良好，
而且他自己也表示要趕上開季的比賽並非不切實際的目標。
他和馬修在LA一起招募兩位FA的時候有一起做復健。
(一個是DAJ，難道另一個會有可能是Lin嗎?????)


Cuban, who considers the Mavs’ medical staff led by athletic trainer Casey
Smith and team physician T.O. Souryal to be the best in the league,
understands how important it is for Matthews to not miss any more time due to
his Achilles tendon.


Cuban認為小牛的醫療團隊是聯盟中最好的，
他們也應該了解能讓馬修能快點從阿基里斯腱的撕裂傷中復原是多麼重要。


“He swears up and down that he’s not,” Cuban said, “but we’re not going
to rush him regardless of what he thinks.”


Cuban表示，
"馬修不停表示他並沒有急著上場，
但不論他自己怎麼想，
我們都不會逼迫他上場直到確認他復原。"



心得:

看來之後的確就是要以CP25+DAJ+馬修為核心了，
希望CP25和馬修都能順利康復!!
然後私心認為的確完全恢復才是重點，
今年有這樣的陣容我滿足了XD
