Lakers' Dwight Howard didn't expect to be traded by Wizards


Dwight Howard hardly suited up for the Washington Wizards.

The veteran center played in just nine games due to an assortment of
injuries, and despite having another year on his original contract, the
Wizards shipped Howard to the Memphis Grizzlies.

Dwight Howard幾乎不適合華盛頓巫師。這位老將中鋒因為種種傷病問題上個賽季只打了
九場比賽，儘管還有一年的合約，後來他被巫師交易到了灰熊。


In spite of the fact that the Wizards were coming off a losing season and in
desperate need of developing young talent while cutting costs, Howard said he
did not know he was going to be traded (via Fred Katz of The Athletic):

“I didn’t know I was gonna get traded, but I was prepared for anything. …
 (Sheppard) called me. I guess they had already made the trade and he called
me. And it was just like, you’re traded,” Howard said. “Nothing I could do
at that point.”

事實上巫師經歷了一個失敗的賽季，也迫切需要在減少成本的同時訓練年輕的潛力球員，
Howard並不知道他會被交易，他和美媒The Athletic說：「我不知道自己會被交易，但我
為任何事情做好準備。後來我接到Sheppard的電話，我猜他們已經進行交易了才打給我。
然後就像這樣，你被交易了，當下我無能為力。」


Howard was eventually bought out, but he would have a different chance for
redemption.

The Los Angeles Lakers were in desperate need for another center with
DeMarcus Cousins suffering a torn ACL in the summer, and they brought a hoard
of big men in for workouts.

Eventually, Howard earned himself a non-guaranteed deal to return to the
franchise that had made him a practical wrestling heel in 2013. But so far,
it has been a sweet reunion.

Howard最終被灰熊買斷，但是他有另一個機會救贖。洛杉磯湖人在今年夏天因為Cousins
的前十字韌帶撕裂傷，他們找來一群大個子參加訓練。最終，Howard獲得了一份不保證
合約，重返了他在2013年摔了一跤的球隊。但是到目前為止，這是一次甜蜜的團圓。


Howard is averaging 6.9 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game on just
over 20 minutes per night. He has reestablished himself as one of the best
rim protectors in basketball, and in turn, the Lakers have transformed into
arguably the best defensive team in the NBA.

Perhaps Howard would have liked another shot at life in the nation’s
capital. But he is surely doing just fine for the best team in basketball.

Howard每場比賽平均上場20分鐘以上，貢獻6.9分，7.1個籃板和1.5個阻攻。他重新證明
自己在籃球上是最好的防守者之一，反過來說，湖人也成為可能是NBA最好的防守球隊。
也許Howard希望在首都能有所表現，但是現在他肯定為最好的籃球隊做得很好。

不過也因為這樣他現在才有機會回到湖人打球

前幾天巫師總教練Scott Brooks在賽後稱讚DH的防守表現

這也是去年他們找他到巫師隊的原因

華盛頓郵報也說現在的DH才是巫師當時要的
