Report: Clippers interested in Bulls’ Thaddeus Young, Kris Dunn

The Los Angeles Clippers have trade interest in Chicago Bulls small forward
Thaddeus Young and point guard Kris Dunn, according to Joe Cowley of the
Chicago Sun-Times.

The NBA trade deadline is on Feb. 6:

That leaves Thaddeus Young and Kris Dunn, and that’s about it. Sources have
indicated that the Los Angeles Clippers have interest in both, but they could
go after Young in a trade, and wait for Dunn, who is a restricted free agent
this summer.

Young has appeared in 45 games for the Bulls this season. He’s averaging 9.0
points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.7 assists while shooting 42.1 percent from the
field, 34.5 percent from beyond the arc and 59.6 percent from the free-throw
line.

According to K.C. Johnson of NBC Sports Chicago, the Clippers recently sent a
scout to watch Young play.

The Bulls acquired Dunn from the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Jimmy Butler
trade back in the summer of 2017. He’s played in 46 games this season and is
putting up 7.3 points, 3.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists, all while shooting 42.8
percent overall, 26.2 percent from the 3-point line and 74.0 percent from the
charity stripe.

The Clippers are in third place in the Western Conference standings with a
record of 31-14. The Bulls, meanwhile, are 17-29, good for 10th place in the
Eastern Conference standings.

The Clippers can technically stand pat at the deadline and be fine heading
into the second half of the season. However, if the Bulls give signals they
are willing to trade Young, the Clippers should try and acquire him for the
right price.
