[花邊] Green:我剛進NBA時很溫和 是RJ讓我做自己

It's hard to imagine Golden State Warriors standout Draymond Green being
mild-mannered on the hardwood floor, considering he has racked up more than
$1 million in fines for his career. However, that was precisely what he was
in the early part of his career.As a second-round pick in the 2012 NBA Draft,
Green came off the bench and was a key component of the Dubs' bench mob. He was
a quintessential role player who did whatever head coach Steve Kerr asked him
to do on the court. And since Draymond was only making $880,248 per season in
his first three years in the NBA, he was keen on making every penny last.So, he
played hard and tried to be on his best behavior. However, that approach didn't
last long, as a conversation with then-veteran teammate Richard Jefferson
unlocked the Draymond that many now both love and hate.

球場上展現出溫和有禮的一面，但事實上在他生涯初期確實是這個模樣。身為2012年的次

前輩Richard Jefferson的談話後，如今讓人們愛恨交加的Draymond就此出現。


With the team starting All-Star David Lee at the four, Green played primarily
as a reserve in his first two seasons. And with the offense revolving around
Stephen Curry, he didn't get many shots at the basket. In fact, Draymond
didn't get his first field goal in the Association until his eighth game,
which came against the Atlanta Hawks.
After splashing a three, Green got caught up in his emotions and was called
for a technical for taunting. As happy as he was to finally make a shot in
the NBA, Dray recalled feeling sad, knowing he had to pay for the technical
foul.
"After that basket, I was crushed because, if you remember, it cost me $2,000
and I hadn't even got my first check yet. All I had was my $31,000 advance
that I had to buy furniture with," Dray shared on "The Richard Show." "And I
had to rent a car because I couldn't afford to buy one."
Such was life back then for Draymond, who, compared to most NBA players,
wasn't making much money. Despite his situation, Richard approached his
younger teammate and gave him advice that would change the trajectory of his
entire career.
"And you told me what?" Dray told RJ with a huge smile.


當時球隊將明星球員David Lee擺在先發大前鋒的位置，Green在前兩個賽季主要以替補登

場伴隨著球隊進攻體系完全圍繞Stephen Curry運轉，Green並沒有太多出手投籃的機會。

事實上，他在的前七場比賽都未能斬獲運動戰得分，直到第八場對陣亞特蘭大老鷹隊，才

終於投進生涯首記運動戰進球。

在投進這記三分球後Green情緒激動，隨即向對手噴垃圾話被吹罰一次技術犯規。雖然終於

在NBA投進第一球讓他欣喜萬分，但Green一想到要為這次技術犯規支付罰款，心裡就滿是

沮喪。

「投進那球之後我整個人都崩潰了，你應該還記得吧，那個技術犯規讓我損失了2000美元

，而我當時連第一筆薪水都還沒領到。我手上就只有3萬1000美元的預支薪資，本來還打算

用這筆錢買傢俱，而且我當時根本買不起車，只能租車代步。」Green在《The Richard

Show》中回憶。

這就是當年Green的處境，比起絕大多數NBA球員，他當時的收入實在少得可憐。儘管經濟

狀況捉襟見肘，Richard Jefferson還是主動找上這位年輕隊友給了他一番建議，而這番話

，徹底改變了Green的職業生涯。

「你當時是怎麼跟我說的？」Green滿臉笑容地對Richard Jefferson說。


"When you look at my demeanor on the basketball court when I first came into
the league, I was meek, but I was like, 'Man, I can't get techs. I can't do
this,'" Green stated. "And RJ was like, 'Yes, you can!'"
Those few words from Richard proved to be the key that unlocked Pandora's box
for Draymond. From that point on, he stopped holding back and began playing
his game with confidence and intensity. Green became the vocal leader of the
Warriors, constantly egging on his teammates to play harder and better, and
getting under his foe's skin, whether with trash talk or physical play.
Realizing what he had done, Jefferson beamed with pride and said, "America…
 this is my official apology for what we have witnessed. All the
championships, Defensive Player of the Years, technicals, suspensions,
ejections — I apologize. It is my fault. I created Draymond Green, and I am
responsible for all of his success."
RJ's statement may have been said with tongue in cheek, but make no mistake:
his words unwittingly unlocked a side of Dray that would one day propel him
to become a surefire Hall of Famer.


「當你回顧我剛進聯盟時在球場上的行為舉止，那時候的我還相當謙和溫順，心裡總在想

『天啊，我絕對不能吃技術犯規，這種事絕對碰不得』，然後Richard Jefferson直接對我

說：『沒錯，你就是可以放手去做！』」Jefferson這短短幾句話，成為了開啟Green潛能

的關鍵。從此之後，他不再壓抑自己，開始帶著滿滿的自信與強烈的侵略性打出屬於自己

的球風。Green逐漸成為了勇士隊場上的話語領袖，不斷地激勵隊友拿出更強的鬥志、打出

更亮眼的表現；同時不論是噴垃圾話還是強硬的肢體對抗，他總是能成功騷擾對手，動搖

對方的比賽節奏。

意識到自己做了什麼，Jefferson滿臉驕傲地笑稱：「全美國的球迷們……對於這些年大家

見證的種種，我在這裡正式致歉，無論是那些總冠軍獎盃、年度最佳防守球員殊榮，還是

數不清的技術犯規、禁賽處罰與驅逐出場，這都是我的錯，是我造就了如今的Draymond

Green，我要為他來負責。」

Jefferson這番話或許帶著幾分調侃的意味，但毋庸置疑的是：他當年這幾句話，無意間

喚醒了Green地另一面，而這一面最終推動他成為一名毫無懸念的名人堂球員。
