LOS ANGELES — Jaylen Brown reminisced with LeBron James during All-Star break f
estivities last weekend. Playing on the same team with the future Hall of Famer,
 Brown spoke about his first start in the NBA, facing James and the Cavaliers ba
ck on Nov. 3, 2016.

LOS ANGELES — Jaylen Brown 在上週末的 All-Star 週活動期間，與 LeBron James 一同
回憶往事。能夠與這位未來名人堂球星並肩作戰，Brown 談起自己在 2016 年 11 月 3 日
NBA 生涯首次先發，對上 James 與 Cleveland Cavaliers 的場景。

Brown had a breakout performance, scoring 19 points in a Celtics loss. Brown rev
ealed James’ message from that night: “You’re going to be an All-Star one day
. You’re going to be a great player.” Brown said he spoke with James about tha
t moment during All-Star weekend.

那場比賽中，Brown 攻下 19 分，表現亮眼，儘管 Boston Celtics 最終落敗。他透露，當
晚 James 曾對他說：「你總有一天會成為 All-Star，也會成為一名偉大的球員。」而在這
次 All-Star 週末，兩人再次聊起那段往事。

Nearly a decade later, James was back praising Brown. This time, he had some str
iking comments about Brown’s MVP candidacy.

將近十年後，James 再度公開稱讚 Brown，並對他在 MVP 評選中的討論度不高直言不解。

“JB is playing great basketball,” James said. “This whole MVP thing, I don’t
 understand why his name is not getting talked about. Nobody gave them a shot to
 start the season. He’s averaging just under 30 (points per game)? It’s a popu
larity contest sometimes.”

「JB 打出了非常出色的籃球，」James 表示。「我真的不懂，為什麼在 MVP 討論中幾乎聽
不到他的名字。賽季開始前沒有人看好他們。他場均將近 30 分？有時候 MVP 更像是一場
人氣競賽。」

Brown finished with 32 points, eight rebounds and seven assists Sunday in the Ce
ltics’ blowout win over the Lakers. The C’s were never threatened by the Laker
s in the second half, winning their eighth game in the last nine tries. Boston i
s now 37-19 on the season as it enjoys life as one of the best teams in the East
.

Brown is a huge part of that success, enjoying a breakout season when it comes t
o his scoring totals. He’s been at the top of the opposing scouting report on a
 nightly basis, and he’s unleashed a new level of shotmaking this year. He’s a
 huge reason why the Celtics have surpassed every preseason expectation, playing
 like an East contender.

Brown 正是這段成功的重要關鍵。本季他的得分表現明顯提升，成為對手每晚重點防守的對

Despite all that, Brown hasn’t seen his name pop up in many MVP discussions. Th
e Thunder’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, the Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic and the Pistons
’ Cade Cunningham have been the main names drawing attention. Brown pointed out
 where he believes he’s one of the best players in the league.

然而，即便表現如此亮眼，Brown 的名字在 MVP 討論中仍不常被提及。目前較受矚目的焦
點包括 Shai Gilgeous-Alexander、Nikola Jokic 與 Cade Cunningham。對此，Brown 也

“I feel like I’m the best two-way player in the world,” Brown said. “I play
both ends of the court night to night. I’m available, which is hard to do. I’m
 a leader. I help lead my team, empower my team to come out and play confidently
. Stuff that doesn’t always show up on the analytics. And I’m a winner.”

「我認為自己是世界上最好的雙向球員，」Brown 說。「我每晚在攻防兩端都全力以赴，也

James said his relationship with Brown has always been “respectful.” He joked
that he had an issue with what Brown said about his son, Bronny James, at his ro
okie Summer League. Brown was caught saying he wasn’t sure if Bronny would be a
 future pro, but later clarified those comments. James didn’t sound too hung up
 on it now.

James 表示，他與 Brown 的關係一直以來都建立在「彼此尊重」之上。他也開玩笑提到，
自己曾對 Brown 評論他兒子 Bronny James 在新人 Summer League 的言論有些在意。Brow
n 當時曾表示不確定 Bronny 是否具備成為職業球員的實力，但事後已澄清相關說法。如今
 James 也已一笑置之。

It’s clear Brown is turning heads across the league with his play. He’s gotten
 the individual accolades, namely the 2024 East Finals and 2024 NBA Finals MVP a
wards. But Brown hasn’t picked up too much of the regular-season love throughou
t his career. The tune is starting to change for Brown amid a strong year leadin
g the Celtics near the top of the East.

Brown 的表現正逐漸在聯盟掀起更多關注。他已獲得個人榮譽，包括 2024 年東區決賽 MVP

“I think he just used the motivation of a lot of people saying they’re going t
o have a down year because obviously (Jayson Tatum) being out,” James said. “T
hem losing Jrue (Holiday). Al (Horford) leaves. (Kristaps) Porzingis leaves. The
ir whole championship team pretty much was revamped. Use that as motivation to k
eep them afloat.”
