Much was discussed at the time when Dallas Mavericks assistant general
manager Michael Finley confiscated a can of beer from Luka Doncic‘s hands
while the latter was celebrating the Mavs’ 2024 Western Conference
championship win with his father outside the team’s locker room.

All this time, Finley kept silent about the incident while many criticized
him for doing so. Well, it turns out that the only reason he didn’t say
anything was that he wasn’t asked about it. And so when it was brought up in
a recent interview with 105.3 The Fan radio, the two-time NBA All-Star gladly
shared “God’s honest truth” about the beer incident with their “former
player.”

達拉斯獨行俠助理總經理Michael Finley從Luka Doncic手中沒收一罐啤酒的那一刻，當
時引起了不少討論。那是Doncic和父親在球隊更衣室外慶祝獨行俠贏得2024年西區冠軍的
時候。

這段時間以來，Finley一直對這件事保持沉默，而許多人因此批評他。現在看來，他之所
以沒發聲，唯一的原因只是沒有人問他。於是，最近在105.3 The Fan電台的訪談中被提
起時，Finley很高興地能分享了關於這位「前球員」啤酒事件的來龍去脈。

“I leave the court. I see number 77 standing over there having a beer and I
say, ‘Congratulations, young fella, you definitely deserve that beer.’ And
he’s like, ‘Thanks, man, thanks.’ I leave him. I go in the locker room. I
celebrate with the rest of the team. We’re having a great time. Champagne is
being popped. Pictures are being taken and we’re having a jolly old time,”
said Finley.

Finley說:「我離開球場，看到77號站在那裡拿著一罐啤酒，我說，『恭喜你，年輕人，
你絕對配得上這罐啤酒。』他回我『謝謝，兄弟，謝謝。』我就離開他，進到更衣室，
和隊上其他人一起慶祝。我們玩得很開心，香檳狂噴，拍照狂拍，大家都high翻了。」

That beer incident took place after Game 5 of the 2024 Western Conference
finals, where the Mavs blew out the Minnesota Timberwolves 125-103 to advance
to the NBA Finals for the first time since 2011. Doncic had another big game
with 36 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals while winning WCF MVP
honors.

Definitely, he deserved that beer.

The image of Luka and his dad, Sasa, just outside the locker room was also
the perfect opportunity to capture the Mavs star during his biggest moment –
wearing a Finals cap and a Western Conference champions shirt while standing
beside his father, perhaps similar to the James Jordan-MJ moments during the
Bulls Dynasty years.

But while Jordan always had that cigar in his hand, Luka had a can of Fulton
Lonely Blonde Ale.

這件事發生在2024年西區決賽第5場比賽結束後，獨行俠以125-103大勝灰狼，隊史自2011
年以來首次闖進NBA總決賽。Doncic在那場比賽又繳出亮眼表現，得到36分、10籃板、5助
攻和2抄截，並榮獲西區決賽MVP。

毫無疑問，他真的配得上那罐啤酒。

當時Luka和他的父親Sasa就站在更衣室外，那一刻其實是捕捉獨行俠球星重要時刻的完美
畫面——他戴著總決賽帽、穿著西區冠軍T恤，站在父親旁邊。這樣的畫面，很像當年公
牛王朝時期Michael Jordan和父親James Jordan一起慶祝的經典時刻。

不過，Jordan手上總是拿著是雪茄，而Luka拿的是一罐Fulton Lonely Blonde Ale。

“I come out of the locker room and our social media department is frozen. I’
m like, ‘What’s going on, guys? What’s wrong?’ They said, ‘We wanna take
a picture of Luka and his dad.’ I said, ‘Well, take the picture. You guys
are great at it, take the picture. They said, ‘But Luka’s holding a beer, he
’s drinking a beer.’ I said, ‘Well, go take the beer from him.’ They
said, ‘What?

We can’t do that. I said, ‘OK, I’ll do it.'”

“So when you watch the video, I go take the beer, I hug Luka again and that’
s why Luka looked like, ‘Man, what are you doing? We just talked about this,
and you said it was cool,” he explained.

「我從更衣室走出來，看到我們的社群媒體部門整個愣住。

我就問:『怎麼了?發生什麼事？』
他們說:『我們想拍 Luka 和他爸爸的照片。』
我說  :『那就拍啊，你們很擅長這個，拍吧。』
他們說:『可是 Luka 手上拿著啤酒，他在喝啤酒。』
我說  :『那你們就去把啤酒拿走啊。』
他們說:『蛤?我們做不到。』
我就說:『好吧，那我去拿。』

「所以如果你去看那段影片，我走過去把啤酒拿走，又再抱了Luka一下。那也是為什麼
Luka當時看起來像是在說:『兄弟你在幹嘛?我們剛剛不是才聊過，而且你還說沒問題的
。』」
