Yes, really. Towns spoke about the little guy perched on his shoulder with Lar
ry Berger of USA TODAY Sports.

“He’s such a great kid, he doesn’t want to talk back to you, so he turns hi
s head to the side and talks to that little man on his shoulder,” Calipari sa
id. “And after he started doing it, I said, ‘Who are you talking to?’ And I
can’t remember which of the coaches gave it the nickname: ‘He’s talking to
Karlito.’ “
Karlito even has his own Twitter handle, which serves to cheer Towns and the W
ildcats on, as well as nag Towns about blunders in otherwise amazing performan
ces, like missing shots from the charity stripe.
