Then was Scott Effross. And now the Yankees get Montas to join their rotation. 4.1. @JackCurryYES: For Montas and Trivino, Yankees parted with Sears, Waldichuk, Bowman and Medina. 4.2. @Ken_Rosenthal: Waldichuk was Yankees’ No 5 prospect, per @MLBPipeline. Medina was No. 10, Sears No. 20, Bowman No. 21. Bowman is a second baseman. Others are pitchers. Earlier today, Yankees traded No. 7 prospect, RHP Hayden Wisneski, to Cubs. (5) @JeffPassan: The New York Yankees are finalizing a deal to acquire right-handed reliever Scott Effross from the Chicago Cubs, sources tell ESPN. Now on the 60-day IL, Severino last pitched July 13, so we won't see him until mid-September. Effross is under team control until 2028, bringing another filthy pitch mix (and unique delivery) to the bullpen. This reliever is elite at missing barrels and getting batters to chase as well. (10) @MaxTGoodman: Josh Donaldson is now 2-for-27 (.074) with 9 K in his last eight games. He's hitting .191 (26-for-136) with 47 K and 4 HR in his last 38 games. (11) @ktsharp: Yankees have 4 losses by more than 3 runs this season. That's the fewest in MLB. Every other team has at least 10 losses by more than 3 runs this season.
