Draft picks and roster hopefuls will be in the spotlight over the next week
and a half as the Suns’ Summer League squad departs for Las Vegas.

The team tips off its five-game (minimum) slate with a contest against the
Portland Trailblazers on Saturday at 1 p.m.

To get you ready for the annual youth showcase, Suns.com writers Matt
Petersen and Tyler Emerick responded to three topics for an all-encompassing
preview. Feel free to chime in with your thoughts in the comment section
below.

1. Which rookie are you most eager to see on the court?
第一個問題：你最希望看到哪一個菜鳥在場上？

Petersen: Dragan Bender
Petersen 選擇了 Dragan Bender。

The youngest player at the Summer League has played more professional
basketball than anyone else, but few of his highlights were visible on the
Western Hemisphere. This will be everyone's first up-close look at what, how
well and how much Bender can do.

他是本次夏季聯賽中最為年輕，卻又有著最多職業經驗的球員。但我們很少看到
他的 highlight 出現。所以，這會是所有人第一次親眼看到他上場打球，我們想
知道他到底能夠做得多好？


One thing several players and coaches have been adament about concerning
Bender: He's already really, really good at coming off screens for a quick
catch-and-shoot. I'm excited to see that in game action, but also for him to
show what else he might bring to the table.

Emerick: Tyler Ulis

There are always guys with plenty to prove in Las Vegas. (Ahem, that’s kind
of the whole point of the event.) But what makes Ulis’ situation more unique
is how remarkably decorated his career has been to this point. The former
Kentucky guard was a consensus First Team All-American last year after
becoming just the second player in SEC history to be named the conference
Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year in the same season.

Despite all the accolades, Ulis fell to the Suns in the second round of last
month’s draft – presumably due to his height (5-10). He will be the first
to tell you that perception has created an even bigger chip on his shoulder.
Here's to seeing how Ulis begins proving those who doubted him wrong.

Petersen: Alan Williams
Petersen 選擇了 Alan Williams 。

This edition of the Summer Suns doesn't sport many true big men. That means
roster hopefuls like Alan Williams, Alec Brown and Richard Solomon will all
have a shot at making an impression on the Suns' front office and coaching
staff.

在太陽的夏季聯盟隊伍組成中並沒有放入太多的高個子球員，這意味著 Alan Williams、
Alec Brown 跟 Richard Soloman 會是教練團在前場內短期的焦點所在。

At just 6-8, Williams is short for a center, but he is absolutely relentless
in chasing down rebounds and sniffing out angles to block shots. He also has
the added carrot of a non-guaranteed contract for next season. For a hometown
kid who grew up seeing the Suns' arena every day during his childhood, you
can bet he'll be plenty motivated to keep his spot on the roster.

Emerick: Alec Brown

The second-round pick from 2014 will be making his third trip to the Summer
League. The 7-1 big man played in Spain last year, averaging 6.1 points and
2.9 rebounds in 29 games. In the previous season for the Suns D-League
affiliate, Brown shot 45 percent from the field, including 35 percent from
three-point range.

With a pass-first guard like Ulis running the show, Brown should get some
good looks in the pick-and-roll and away from the basket on kick-outs. The
opportunity is there to show Suns brass his development.

3. Predict the best highlight from a Suns player in Vegas.

Petersen: Marquese Chriss put-back dunk
Petersen：Marquese Chriss 將會跟進補扣籃。

Chriss is an easy pick for any highlight due to his still-growing 6-10 frame
and a 38.5-inch vertical leap. The dude can get up, and it's only a matter of
time before he does so in at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.

在任何 highlight 的選擇上，身高 6-10 (還在持續成長)，垂直起跳 38.5 吋的

I'm going with a put-back dunk because fundamentals are often lacking in the
Summer League setting. Chriss will have plenty of opportunities to punish
defenders who forget to block him out, and at least one of those will lead to
an instant highlight.

Emerick: Bender outlet pass to Ulis, who finds Chriss for a jam

In the buildup to this year’s draft, scouts raved about Bender’s ability to
find the open man in transition. He often uses a baseball pass to get the
ball upcourt in a hurry.

賦。他通常用投射棒球的方式把球迅速傳到前場。


At some point, Bender will snag a rebound and find Ulis going the other way.
And as Matt already mentioned, Chriss can jump out of the gym. He’ll finish
the play at the rim via an alley-oop from Ulis at the shoulder. That’s a
recipe Suns fans could get used to in the next several years.

在某些時候， Bender 會把籃板抓下來，迅速找到已經跑到另一邊的魷魚絲。而就像
