[問題] 前置基礎的判斷

以下例子想詢問大家的意見

一種太陽能電池,至少有一金屬氧化物層(其他特徵省略).
金屬氧化物層可為氧化鎢層.
因此,

獨立項為
A solar cell, comprising: a layer of a metal oxide(以下略).

附屬項
The solar cell as claimed in X, wherein the layer of the metal oxide is
a layer of WO3.
或可寫為
The solar cell as claimed in X, wherein the metal oxide is WO3.

以上兩種表示方式是很常見的
如果寫成以下不知是否可行
The solar cell as claimed in X, wherein the metal oxide of the layer of the
metal oxide is WO3.
部分同事建議the metal oxide of the layer應改成"a" metal oxide of the layer
理由是a layer of a metal oxide沒有提供任何前置基礎
但我反駁說a layer of a metal oxide就是指一種有metal oxide的layer
"metal oxide" 早就隱含在"layer"中,是有前置基礎的

想問各位的看法
若小弟觀念有誤也希望各位給予指教

→ brson: a metal oxide layer就可以了 不需要a layer of sth
→ forman: 需要這樣複雜嗎?
