Applications are invited for a PhD position in linear/nonlinear stability
analysis for transition flow in the Multiscale Computational Physics Lab
(http://www.facebook.com/MCPL2015) in the Department of Mechanical and Nuclear
Engineering at Kansas State University. This project is to investigate the
transition process of high speed flow through stability analysis on morphing
continuum theory. Preference will be given to candidates with a master degree
and a strong background in theoretical fluid mechanics, transition and
turbulent flows, scientific computing, continuum mechanics, and applied
mathematics. Prior knowledge and experience of supersonic/hypersonic flow,
python programming and complex analysis will be advantageous for the position.
The position can start as early as Summer of 2017. Applications are reviewed
in the rolling basis.
