'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' crosses record $900 million mark

Star Wars: The Force Awakens continues to explore new record box office
territory as it will cross the $900 million mark domestically Friday,
according to Walt Disney Studio estimates. Its global tally is also
expected to surpass $2 billion by Saturday.

It is the only film in history to reach this $900 million domestic milestone,
taking just 50 days of release for The Force Awakens to hit it.

The J.J. Abrams-directed film had passed Avatar's record domestic box office
of $760.5 million in January to claim the all-time No. 1 spot.

迪士尼稱，《星球大戰：原力覺醒》截至週六的全球票房收入有望達到20億美元。

這部影片目前已經取得好萊塢歷史上第三高的票房收入，僅次於《阿凡達》和
《鐵達尼號》。《阿凡達》以接近28億美元的戰績位居全球電影票房歷史之冠。
