Eddy Cue, Apple's (NASDAQ:AAPL) senior vice president of services, said on
Tuesday that the company is exploring the option of adding artificial
intelligence search options to its Safari web browser.

Cue, who made the comments at Google's (GOOG) (NASDAQ:GOOGL) antitrust trial,
added that Perplexity AI and Anthropic, maker of the Claude chatbot, could be
options. Searches in Apple's Safari browser fell for the first time in April,
Cue added.

At stake is a significant chunk of high-margin revenue for Apple, with Google
widely believed to have $20B to the iPhone maker in 2022 to be the default
search option in Safari.

As generative AI chatbots such as ChatGPT, Claude and others become more
prevalent, some have expressed concern about the dominance of Google's search
market share. During recent testimony at the trial, Alphabet CEO Sundar
Pichai said he expects to sign an agreement with Apple by the middle of this
year to include its AI service Gemini on new iPhones.

Apple shares erased earlier gains and fell 0.5% following Cue's comments,
while Google shares fell 4%.

探索將人工智慧搜尋選項整合至 Safari 瀏覽器的可能性。

Cue 在 Google（GOOG）（NASDAQ：GOOGL）反壟斷審判中發表上述言論，並補充指出，
Perplexity AI 與 Claude 聊天機器人的開發商 Anthropic 是潛在的合作選項。他還提
到，Safari 瀏覽器的搜尋量在今年 4 月首次出現下滑。

這關乎蘋果一大筆高毛利收入，外界普遍認為 Google 在 2022 年曾支付約 200 億美元
給蘋果，以維持其作為 Safari 瀏覽器預設搜尋引擎的地位。

隨著 ChatGPT、Claude 等生成式 AI 聊天機器人日益普及，外界對 Google 在搜尋市場
的主導地位表示擔憂。在最近的法庭證詞中，Alphabet 執行長 Sundar Pichai 表示，他
預期今年年中之前會與蘋果簽署協議，將其 AI 服務 Gemini 納入新款 iPhone。
