Jan 27 (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday the value of
the dollar was "great", when asked whether he thought it had declined too much
, adding to pressure on the greenback which hit a four-year low.

，他說美元的價值「很好」，這番話進一步加大了對美元的壓力，使其跌至四年來新低。

The dollar's recent weakness stems from multiple factors: expectations of
continued Federal Reserve rate cuts, tariff uncertainty, policy volatility
including threats to Fed independence and rising fiscal deficits, all of which
 have eroded investor confidence in U.S. economic stability.
美元近期走弱源於多項因素：市場預期聯準會將持續降息、關稅政策的不確定性、政策波
動性（包括對聯準會獨立性的威脅）以及不斷擴大的財政赤字，這些都削弱了投資人對美
國經濟穩定性的信心。

A lower dollar can also benefit U.S. exporters, though Trump said he was not
seeking for its value to decline further.
美元走低也能使美國出口商受益，不過川普表示他並不尋求讓美元繼續貶值。

"I would want it to... just seek its own level," he said.
「我希望它……自己找到應有的水準，」他說。

Trump made the comments to reporters in Iowa ahead of a speech expected to
center on the economy as he seeks to rally his stalwart rural supporters in a
state that hosts key congressional races in November.
川普是在愛荷華州對記者發表上述言論，他即將發表一場以經濟為主題的演說，並試圖在

"No, I think it's great, the value of the dollar ... dollar's doing great,"
Trump said when asked by a reporter if he thought the value of the dollar had
declined too much.

Losses in the dollar index, which measures its strength against a basket of
six major currencies, accelerated after Trump's comments, hitting a session
low of 95.566 and the lowest since February 2022.
美元指數（衡量美元兌六種主要貨幣強弱）在川普發言後跌勢加劇，觸及95.566的盤中低
點，為2022年2月以來最低水準。

"If you look at China and Japan, I used to fight like hell with them, because
they always wanted to devalue," Trump said.

His comments came after an extended period of weakness in the greenback.

The dollar has come under pressure in recent sessions as traders braced for a
possible coordinated currency intervention by U.S. and Japanese authorities to
 prop up the weak yen.

受壓力。

The yen rallied by as much as 4% over the past two sessions on talk of the U.S
. and Japan conducting rate checks - often seen as a precursor to official
intervention.

"FX market participants are always looking for a trend to jump on," said
Steven Englander, head of global G10 FX research and North America macro
strategy at Standard Chartered in New York.

"Often officials push back against abrupt currency moves but when the
President expresses indifference or even endorses the move it emboldens USD

DOLLAR WEAKNESS HAS SOME BENEFITS
美元走弱也有其好處

While the dollar's fall reflects investor worries about the U.S. economy's
strength and could lead to inflationary pressures due to the rising cost of
imports, it can help some businesses.
雖然美元下跌反映了投資人對美國經濟實力的憂慮，並可能因進口成本上升而帶來通膨壓
力，但它同時也能幫助部分企業。

A weaker greenback makes it cheaper for multinational companies to convert
foreign profits into dollars, while also boosting the competitiveness of U.S.
exporters' products.
美元走弱使跨國企業將海外獲利換回美元時更加有利，同時也提高美國出口產品的競爭力
。

A weaker U.S. dollar also eases the burden for foreign countries and
corporations with debt denominated in dollars, as they need less of their
local currency to repay it.
美元走弱也能減輕以美元計價負債的外國國家與企業的還款負擔，因為他們需要較少的本
國貨幣即可償還。

“The administration wants a weaker dollar," said Eugene Epstein, head of
trading and structured products at Moneycorp in New Jersey, adding that it
also helped improve the trade deficit.

"The point is, he’s basically making clear that he’s a president that cares
about the trade deficit,” said Epstein.

Steve Sosnick, market strategist at Interactive Brokers, Greenwich,
Connecticut, said that a weaker dollar "was a two-sided coin".

"On the one hand, it’s good for multinationals... If you have operations
around the world and foreign currency revenue that will have a conversion
advantage when you turn it into U.S. dollars, that will be good. On the other,
 it makes imported goods more expensive and there might be some inflationary
impact from that."
「一方面，這對跨國企業有利……如果你在全球各地都有營運並有外幣收入，換成美元時
