This is my first post here - but I've been lurking here for awhile. I was
lucky enough to go to the Live Action panel at D23 yesterday and see the
Civil War footage. It's so hard to process a trailer length look like that
when you only see it once and it's so fast - so I've been reading some other
descriptions to jog my memory.

Below is what I remember where I tried to lay out some scenes that I hadn't
fully seen explained or touched on elsewhere or I remember it slightly
differently. Some parts have been said over and over and I didn't focus on
those.


It starts out with Steve looking out a dirty window. "Eyes on target." Falcon
on the roof with Red Wing. And Natasha sitting below at a cafe. All watching
a truck rumble down the market set from Atlanta.

During the Crossbones fight, crossbones throws a magnetic bomb, which
attaches to Steve's shield. Steve, realizing (and being in a crowd of
civilians), rears back and throws the shield upward, which explodes over the
crowd. So he doesn't have his shield for the remainder of the fight. When
they're fighting, Crossbones whips out some sort of saw/blade/machete thing
on his right hand (it sounds like a buzz saw) and jabs it at Cap. Cap rips it
off and tosses it away. Then Crossbones steps back and pulls out a bigger one
on his left hand.

I think there was more fighting - Steve pushes him across and he ends up on
his knees. It sort of pulls back and crossbones turns, takes off his helmet,
showing the scarring. "This is for dropping a building on me." And then with
Steve standing right over him. "Did you know he remembered you? Your pal,
your buddy, your bucky?" Steve is still standing over him. "What did you say?"

Then they had the Marvel logo with comic book pages before flashing to
General Ross monologuing.

Over General Ross monologuing (and Steve's response), they showed some new
shots of fighting. Including Steve hanging off the top of a building with one
hand and hanging on to a helicopter (the landing gear) with the other hand.
He's straining, trying to keep the helicopter from flying away. You also see
SW in a dim doorway. Then it changes to a flashback (when steve is saying you
can't save everyone) to the Triskelion collapsing, him falling out of the
helicarrier, and Bucky dragging him out of the water and walking away.

That leads into the continuation of the Ant-man scene. "Buck, do you know
me?" Bucky is silent, and then lifts his head to look right at Steve. "Your
mother's name is Sarah. You used to put newspapers in your shoes."

Then skip over to the Tony and Steve moments. Steve looks up as Tony comes
into a room. "Sometimes I want to punch you in your perfect teeth" voice over
while Tony glares at Steve.

Then there was the voice over from Tony and Steve about boundaries vs
protection and how they'd be no better than villains. It's shown over footage
of various scenes. Steve and Bucky walking through snow (it's shot from what
feels like inside so you're seeing them walk toward the camera from the
outside like they're about to barge in. Bucky has a pretty big gun in his
metal hand and he's in combat gear). A lot of shots of Team Cap. Bucky is
wearing the red shirt from the credit scene in a lot of them. There's an
overhead shot of the funeral (big church heavily decorated) and you can see
Steve as a pall bearer of the coffin going down the aisle. There's also the
footage in this part of that truck blowing up through the bridge. Then it
shifts and Bucky is held by what sort of look like metal struts in a circular
glass cage that's fastened in the center of a larger room. There's people
around watching him try to escape (punching the glass as best he can and
flailing a little). The camera starts wide and moves in close. You can't see
his face too well but the metal arm confirms it's him (plus they showed a
close up still of this shot later because they'd modified the metal bar that
sort of runs along the outside middle (like a supporting bar) to say "D23").
I think Steve may have been in the room, looking upset? But I also could be
combining with montage flashes and the fact that Steve was vo'ing at the
time. The assumption, looking at it, was that the government had captured
Bucky. It's clear he has no chance of getting out of it. There were a lot of
flashes of Steve standing in rooms, one where he's with a lot of men in suits
and watching footage on a TV. He turns when someone else enters the room.
There may have been a moment when a bunch of soldiers rush into a room where
Cap is standing. The Black Panther and Vision and Hawkeye scenes were in
here. Steve slammed someone against a wall (maybe Zemo?) Plus Martin Freeman
in a conference room of sorts, looking serious in a suit.

Then it flashes over and Falcon is opening the door to a white van and you
see Ant Man sleeping (laying down) on the middle bench seat. He wakes up and
raises his hand against the glare. Then out of the van, shaking Steve's hand,
"wow. Captain America! I'm shaking your hand a lot, aren't I?" They're in a
covered car park with the same white van behind Scott. Steve isn't in
uniform. SW and someone else (it must've been Hawkeye, I guess) are standing
behind him. Sam is standing on Cap's right, watching. Bucky is standing
behind, against a car, leaning on the roof plus the open passenger door. He's
in the red shirt. Scott: "wow." Says something about Cap's shoulders while
gesturing to how big they are. To SW. "You! I know you too. You're great."
Then turning back to Cap: "you know a lot of super people, so thinks for
thanking of me." He pauses, closes his eyes. "Thanks for thinking of me."
Steve looks a little exasperated.

Then Team Cap running through what looks like a destroyed city street, all
armed like they're going to clash with someone.

Flashes to Natasha holding Clint down. Natasha: "we're still friends right?"
Clint: "Depends on how hard you hit me."

Title card.

I would be surprised if they ever released this. It definitely seemed rough
in parts. A couple shots of fighting and explosions had a little bit of a
rough, unfinished look like the special effects and editing hadn't been
polished.

Other notes: I think Natasha's hair changes length a couple times.

The trailer was very Chris Evans focused.

They showed a flash of what looks like a new Avengers building. It's tall
with glass and has the classic A symbol on the upper right corner. At some
point. I thought I remembered it in the beginning but now I'm thinking it
could've been in the monologue with Ross.

It had the same sort of vibe to me as WS with the shots of ~political
intrigue

It was a glorious trailer and it got me very excited for what's to come.
