: 為什麼不是(D)?
應該要問你為什麼要選(D)？
這個在解題觀念裡面，叫做「過長的主詞」，只要瞭解句子構造，解題就變得很簡單；
所以我們分析一下：
--> The supervisor of the marketing department, Ms. Smith, ___ all the
statistics.
1. The supervisor = S
2. of the marketing department = 介片，等於副詞，不用討論，去掉
3. Ms. Smith = 同位語，文法分析上可以略去不看，一樣去掉
因此把上述的2、3去掉就變成以下：
--> The supervisor ___ all the statistics.
看得出來只缺少動詞，所以只能選(B) provided。

有兩組詞你一定要確記詞性：
1. advice (un) 建議
advise (vt) 建議
2. device (n) (個人使用)設備
devise (vt) 設計
所以名詞型的advice，是不會有時態形式的adviced的。
