[題目]回答G版友的英文文法問題

之所以會把題目放在這裡跟大家一起分享，是因為我覺得還有其他人有類似問題。

我沒把這裡當個版噢！

底下是我之前在板上寫的，你先看一下：

基本上勒，whatever有以下三個考點：


1. 當做what所引導的名詞子句的加強語氣，ever可省；此時的whatever多半可以等於（

   不是每個，是「多半」）just/exactly what，此時的whatever不可等於no matter

   what： *. 噢！當然如果作為名詞子句就當整句子的S/O/C，這個不解釋了。

   Ex. I know [whatever you want].

     = I know [what you want].

     = I know [just/exactly what you want].

   但是不可以寫成I know [no matter what you want]. (X)



2. whatever可以當作副詞連接詞，等於no matter what，用來引導副詞子句，連接主要

   子句。

   Ex. [No matter what(= Whatever) you say], I will leave.

     = I will leave [no matter what(= whatever) you say].

至於第三個考點，竊以為不常用也不會考ＸＤ

所以就不講了。



所以你這題：

The theory is that the black holes absorb [_____is around them because of the

fact that they can even absorb all the light that hits the horizon].

absorb本身是vt，其後要接受詞，所以後面中括弧的句子就是Ｎ子句當absorb的受詞:

The theory is that the black holes absorb[what(ever) is around them because

of the fact that they can even absorb all the light that hits the horizon].

(理論上，黑洞會吸收其周圍的任何東西，因為...)

*. what所引導的Ｎ子句，基本上大概等於the N + which/that，

所以這裡大概等於：everything that，你試著自己帶進去，應該會挺瞭解的。



如果你要選everything，在文法上可以，就當作前面省略了that，一樣做Ｎ子句。

不過文意上說不過去。

The theory is that the black holes absorb [(that) everything is around them

because of the fact that they can even absorbe all the light that hits the

horizon].

(理論上，黑洞會吸收一件事情，這件事就是其周圍的任何東西，因為...)

推 exempt      : 你說錯了....不能選 everything
→ exempt      :  t的原因是因為空格後面沒有 that關係代名詞
推 exempt      : 硬選 everything的話,文法不通
→ exempt      : sorry ,我眼花。當我沒講....
