1. I figured that Jaina, my boss, would assume...
這裡 that 子句 「that Jania, my boss, would assume」當 figured 的受詞，
that 子句裡的結構為 S+助V+原形V+...，
若改為 assuming, that 子句會因為只剩主詞(Jaina)沒有動詞而不完整。
這裡並不是要用分詞片語的方法來修飾 Jania。
另外 my boss 是「同位語」，修飾 Jania
2. considerably 是副詞，修飾形容詞 large
