[外電] Towns says T-wolves have done a great job

Karl-Anthony Towns believes Minnesota finally has what he’s spent the past two
years trying to help build: a winning culture. Adding successful veterans like
Jimmy Butler, Jeff Teague, Taj Gibson and Jamal Crawford might have done the
trick.
延攬 Jimmy Butler、Jeff Teague、Taj Gibson 以及 Jamal Crawford 等幾位在過去
有成功經驗的資深球員，Karl-Anthony Towns 相信灰狼隊終於擁有他在這兩季協助球
隊建立的氛圍：贏球文化。

The Timberwolves needed a better mix of age and leadership to intertwine with
their young and talented yet inexperienced core. Towns said the Wolves have “
done a great job of doing what we need to do.
球隊必須在年輕且有天分，但還稍嫌稚嫩的核心中，加入點成熟度和領導力。Towns 表
示高層順利地完成該達成的任務。

“It helps us out a lot just to have that veteran leadership,” Towns said
Saturday from his Pro Camp basketball camp at Eden Prairie High School. “But
more than the veteran leadership, I think just having the experience of knowing
how to get into the playoffs and deep into the playoffs, it’s vital.
「老將領導會帶給這支球隊巨大幫助。」正在參加自辦高中籃球營的 Towns 表示。「

“Now we understand the battles we’re going to go against, we understand the

conquer them, as well.”

Still, Towns knows the Wolves are guaranteed nothing in this Western
Conference, regardless of how many pieces they add. Good Western Conference
teams are going to miss the playoffs next season. Towns is doing everything in
his power to make sure Minnesota – currently in the midst of a 13-year playoff
drought – isn’t one of them.
不過，Towns 也了解不論多少的補強動作，在西區的競爭強度下，也不保證有季後賽席
次。Towns 將會盡所有努力，確保這支已經連續13個球季未能闖進季後賽的球隊，能在
明年不繼續被屏除在外。

“We’ve still got a job to get done,” he said. “I’ve still got to work out
and be the best I can be next year so I can be a contribution to the team. I’m
working hard every day to make sure I can be the best player possible.
Expectations obviously are much higher now, but for me you’ve got to take it
one day at a time.”
「工作還未完成。」他說。「每天努力自主訓練，盡可能讓狀態往更上層樓提升。顯然

Towns, one of the game’s best young players who narrowly missed All-NBA honors
last season, makes a point to add new tricks to his toolbox each offseason.
Last year, he increased and improved his three-point shooting and added moves
such as the step-back jumper and a Dirk Nowitzki-like one-legged fadeaway. This
summer, he said he has added something that he’s “very comfortable with it,
and I can’t wait to bring it out. I think it’s going to be very special for
us.”
上季與全明星隊擦肩而過的 Towns 表示過，在每次休賽季期間，他會學習新技巧。上
個球季，他改進了三分線的準度，並展現出後撤步跳投和 Dirk Nowitzki 招牌的單腳

“Don’t worry about it,” he said with a smile. “You’ll see it in October.”

The wait-and-see approach makes sense with nearly everything about this
Minnesota team heading into next season. The Timberwolves have added an array
of experienced players with varying skill sets. How well will the pieces fit
together? How good can this team be?
邁向新球季，如此拭目以待的態度似乎也可套用在灰狼隊的每件事情上。增添幾位較
資深的球員後，將如何順利整合？團隊實力將提進步到何種程度？

But the Wolves’ front office is taking a big swing, something Towns can
appreciate.
但球隊高層積極運作，這是 Towns 很欣賞的地方。

“It’s always great to see your front office trying to make your team better,”
 Towns said. “They made tough decisions, and you stand by them regardless of
what happens. I can’t wait to start next season. We’ve done a great job
building a team that I guess all of us feel confident in, and we can’t wait to
go in there and do our best.”
「看到球隊高層嘗試讓球隊戰力提升，總是讓人開心。」Towns 說道。「他們做出幾個
艱難抉擇，但不管發生何事，你都站在身旁相挺。我迫不及待新球季的展開，全心投入
