"one way 及 the other"  是指 "architect 與 coder"  (兩個是一
組的，並不是說 one way = architect, 也沒有 the other = coder
的意思)

這寫法的確是特意寫得很模糊, 但語氣 *感覺上* 沒有重到有「單一
性」的意思

或許可翻成

  但某些工作的性質比較偏向於其中一種

推 LPH66: 應該不是吧, 這裡的 one way / the other 應該是指 aspect
如果你說的 aspect 是指這個字的本義的話，

  google define aspect

  a particular part or feature of something.
  "the financial aspect can be overstressed"
  synonyms:       feature, facet, side, characteristic, particular,
  detail; angle, slant

是的，原句中 aspect 之一是 architect, 設計多於實作, 另一個 aspect
則是 coder, 實作多於設計

如果你是指在文法上， one way / the other  與原句中 "design *aspect*"
該詞中的 aspect 的關連的話，那我就不太清楚了 :)  *感覺上* 並
沒有關連
