[英中] 想請幫忙看這一段的翻譯

原文是：

I would say that there has not an open debate over whether scholars should
get involved in human rights activism, but it’s an issue.  I suppose I
represent one side of this question through my actions, while some others
chose to stay uninvolved.

我的翻譯是：我必須說沒有一個關於學者是否應該涉入人權行動的公開爭論，
但那的確是個議題。理論上因為我的行動我應該站在這個問題的一邊，
其他人選擇未涉入的。


我翻完之後，還是不太能理解這段意思，

因為不知道是英文翻譯錯的問題，還是原本文意我就不能理解的問題，

所以想請幫忙看看我的翻譯對不對，謝謝。
