2016的聯邦財政預算，''背包客稅制''依舊強制上路。
THE so-called "backpacker's tax" has survived in the 2016 Federal Budget, with
the government ignoring growing calls to dump the charge by farmers.
聯邦政府不顧農民群起反對的聲浪，成功地在2016聯邦財政計畫中通過了所謂''背包客之
稅制''的這項提案。
The government decided to crack down on working holiday makers, notorious for
leaving the country without paying taxes, by forcing them to pay 32.5c for eve
ry dollar they earn up to $80,000.
聯邦政府已拍板定案，要執行年收入8萬之下，強制每1元徵收32.5角的方式，來對付那些
惡名昭彰且不付稅就離開澳洲的打工度假者。
By comparison, Australians earning less than $20,000 a year enjoy a tax-free i
ncome, then pay 19c in the dollar once they cross the threshold.
反觀：澳洲人一年賺少於2萬元者還可以享受完全免稅額度，如果賺超過2萬的人，每超過
1元也才繳交19角。
