本文摘要(p.2)：

The COVID-19 pandemic has revealed critical knowledge gaps in our
understanding of and a need to update the traditional view of transmission
pathways for respiratory viruses. The long-standing definitions of droplet
and airborne transmission do not account for the mechanisms by which
virus-laden respiratory droplets and aerosols travel through the air and lead
to infection. In this Review, we discuss current evidence regarding the
transmission of respiratory viruses by aerosols—how they are generated,
transported, and deposited, as well as the factors affecting the relative
contributions of droplet-spray deposition versus aerosol inhalation as modes
of transmission. Improved understanding of aerosol transmission brought about
by studies of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)
infection requires a reevaluation of the major transmission pathways for
other respiratory viruses, which will allow better-informed controls to
reduce airborne transmission.

COVID19大流行顯示出我們對呼吸道病毒傳播路徑的理解有關鍵的知識差距，
並需要更新以往的觀點。長期以來對於空氣傳播和飛沫傳播的定義並沒有辦法說明
帶病毒的飛沫和氣溶膠從呼吸道出發經過空氣並導致感染。

本篇回顧論文(Review)，我們要去討論目前呼吸道病毒透過氣溶膠傳播的相關證據，
包括氣溶膠如何產生、傳輸、和沉降，和飛沫噴射沉積和吸入氣溶膠的相對貢獻等因子。

目前從SARS-CoV-2病毒感染的研究促進對氣溶膠的傳染途徑的理解，
這部分需要重新評估過往其他呼吸道病毒的主要傳播路徑，
這將有助於控制並減少空氣傳播。
