How Our Love Ends (2024) Joseph Fasano Tonight, after storms, after lawyers, we meet together one last time in the kitchen, you in your red dress of satin, me in my blue suit of cotton, and we touch, just once, in silence, and dance again, together and alone. We never heard, we never knew each other. You will have your life, and I will have mine, but tonight there is only this coldness, the moon like our brass bed in the river, and our hands, our raw hands we carry, like the deep-grooved gloves of falconers that have learned the infinite difference between giving up and letting something go.
