[問題] 教授回信

大家好，

我今年申請2018 fall PhD

因為本人大學GPA實在有點慘澹

因此有努力並且爭取到公費留考

也有寄信給幾個有興趣的老師,內容包括我的CV,研究經驗,

以及針對對方實驗室的未來的PROPOSAL(根據實驗室網站,PAPER的未來工作以及我的研

究經歷等等)

寄了有八個,只收到三個回復

其中有一個直接打槍說沒有招募新生的規劃...

我想詢問是關於其中一位教授(PennState)的回覆

一開始在去年我寄信的時候並沒有回覆

公費放榜了以後又寄了一封update我的資訊

然後收到回音如下:

第一封:

Congratulations on the Award!  Yes, I am pleased to welcome you to join my
research group at Penn State next fall. I am currently on travel but will
follow up on this matter with you upon returning to my office a week from
today.

第二封:

I am back to my office. To initiate the required paperwork, please forward
the following two items in pdf format to me:



1.       Your updated CV

2.       A copy of your passport.

第三封:

I have a quick question for you.  Are you interested in coming to PSU as a
research scholar working on your doctoral research or you plan to obtain a
Ph.D. degree from PSU?  If the latter is the case, you need to first apply
for admission to the Graduate School majoring in A科系 at PSU.
Please let me know.


由於這個教授同時隸屬於PSU的A科系與B科系,而我申請的為B科系,
因此關於第三封我的回覆是:

My plan is to obtain a Ph.D. degree from PSU, and I have applied for
admission to the Graduate School majoring in B科系 at PSU, not
A科系. I am still waiting for the admission for 2018 fall.
In this situation, can I still be your Ph.D. student?

之後又得到了一個正面的回應

Thank you for the updated information. Yes, I’ll be glad to have you joined
my research group at PSU.

禮貌性的回覆之後到現在過了半個月

請問這樣是代表我有機會嗎?一般教授在錄取PhD新生我看版上大多是需要經過面試的

但這也沒有...還是我要主動詢問是否能約時間聊聊?
