[心得] 文件潤稿推薦Christine

哈囉各位申請的朋友，申請路上有許多資料要準備，其中最關鍵的就是SOP和CV了
我個人大部分項目都是自己準備，在評估各項項目的重要性還有手頭的預算等資源後，決定SOP和CV要找專業的老師潤稿。

參考了版上許多前輩的經驗，最後在朋友的壓倒性推薦下決定請Chrsitne協助

合作方法，基本上是可以看三輪，第一輪釐清自己要表達的意思，第二輪做比較大幅的更動，第三輪就是微調。


以下幾點是大優點：

1. 細心專業 >>> Christine非常地有耐心，針對每一個語意不清的語句都會問清楚，然後調整成專業清楚的說法。每收到一個版本，我會先看她每個刪減字（很多都是文法...）然後再選擇只顯示簡明標記，來改內容。我們會用修訂的對話框框溝通，就不會落東西。

2. 準時 >>> 通常一輪她會需要2~3天潤飾，每次收到我寄過去的修改版本，她會幾小時內告知壓下次回覆日期。說幾天就是幾天。

3. 收費合理 >>> - $100 to review and edit a CV/Resume
                - $150 to review and edit one Statement of Purpose (500–1500words)

敲定後收50%訂金，合作完成後再結清。用PayPal付款。

整個合作過程滿愉快的，Christine很好溝通，態度也很客氣，會用討論的方式來改。可能因為她以前當過英文老師的關係吧？滿妙的是，Christine在收到我第一個版本時，說"Overall, they look very good."，整體沒有動很多（？！）除了小小成就感之外，有種划不來的感覺XD
不過，因為許多分享文提到Christine多聊，所以我就盡量問她問題，用字遣詞格式，她也都很細心有問必答。

有幾個要注意的地方>>>
1. 時差：她住在美東(-5)，跟我們差13小時。她也很固定白天工作回信。如果習慣開夜車的人，最好是可以小調整白天改，傍晚寄給她，這樣最有效率。
2. 用字偏美式(?)：這是我後來才想到的。個人是申請歐陸學校，不知道會不會有差別。介意的人要考量進去。
3. 溝通要用英文：嗯。這也不是什麼問題啦，只是有時候要解釋自己寫不清楚的地方有點困難，其他都還好。

後續若有再找她改給其他學校的客製化版本，她是收一篇$22，5篇$100。

總之，SOP和CV很值得請專業老師潤稿。送件出去時踏實許多。

Though I haven't updated this in a while, it gives a general idea of my academic and professional background. I have a BA in Cultural Anthropology with a minor in Spanish, and a Master's degree in Intercultural Service, Leadership and Management. I have been writing and editing in the professional capacity for about 11 years, mostly related to grants for nonprofit
organizations, but I have also worked with students on their applications for higher education for over 6 years, first as an Education Specialist at an organization near Boston, MA and now as an independent contractor. The students that I have worked with have gotten accepted into master's and PhD programs at schools such as: UPenn, Columbia, Harvard, UCLA, University of Michigan, Washington University, Stockholm School of Economics, EPFL Switzerland, Delft University, among many others.  And I have
worked with students from many disciplines, including finance, sports management, statistics, analytics, computer science, social work, engineering, business, and many others. Hopefully this provides you a decent overview of my background. Let me know if you have any further questions.
