[考題] 關係代名詞主格後動詞變化

各位先進您好
下面兩題是關係子句的答案
但是題目讓我有點矇
想請教一下
依照關係代名詞的文法定義
先行詞＋關代（主格）＋動詞
但下列兩個題目請問差異
1. One of the waitresses  who _work_ in the cafeteria is a member of the band.
2. Linda is the only one of the girls that _is_ doing homework now.
依照文法規則,第一題的先行詞是waitresses,所以work呈原型狀態
但是第二題的先行詞也是複數型girls,為何是單數be動詞is?

推 dennistao: 第一句沒錯啊，用work是對的
推 myiyi: 第一句為什麼不是單數動詞
推 notton: 第一句先行詞waitresses是複數 所以關係子句動詞work無誤

→ hoinoi: 說依文法規定要用復數動詞，但是文法專家說這個可以隨性

推 notton: 第二句是the ONLY one 不是 the one，所以不太一樣吧?
→ notton: 如用複數會變成這些做功課的女生當中的唯一? 感覺語意未結
→ notton: 如用單數則可解釋成她是這些女生當中唯一一個正在做作業的
推 Yoshiko: 純粹是 the ONLY 的緣故
→ nerda: 第一題要整個One of the waitresses一起看，應該是works
