標題[國中] it's been / it is a long time

想請問一下一到題目
不才在考卷上看到這個
I miss my grandma very much because ____a long time since I saw her.
(A) has
(B) it is
(C) there has
(D) there has been
Ans: B
But,因為教導學生的文法是
it has been a long time since I saw her.
但我查了一下網路的English reference
說
英式 it is a long time since I saw her.
美式 it has been a long time since I saw her.
還是因為這一題連接詞because所以得前後時態呼應?
想請教應該怎麼跟學生解釋比較好?
還是,台灣教完成式的句型比較偏向哪一種?
