1. From high gain, narrow beamwidth horns to wide beam dipoles or various
types of array, the choice of antenna has to consider the expected signal
path loss, the parameters to be extracted and the measurement method.
Three types of measurement are in common use. They are the sliding
correlator, swept CW (Vector Network Analyzer), and wideband modulated
signal transmission and recovery.
2. We measure the eye diagram pattern of the PRBS signal, removing the
cable and two test fixtures in the signal path, by de-embedding the cable
and fixture effects. To perform de-embedding, the S-parameters of each cable
pair and fixture are measured and pre-installed in the XYZ software. The
software analyzes the measurement and simulation circuits and generates
a correction transfer function, which when applied to the measured waveform
(Vmeas), produces the desired simulated waveform (Vsim) on the oscilloscope's
display.
3. In the typical test setup for a TVAC test, the whole satellite or
satellite components/modules are placed inside a TVAC chamber. All electrical
connections to the system under test must include hermetically-sealed
connector feedthroughs in order to maintain the vacuum. In general, all the
measurement equipment, including power meter and sensors, are located outside
of the chamber and are connected to the satellite or components using the
sealed feedthroughs via switch matrices or a test interface subsystem.
