"de facto" is one word, and "status quo" another.
they're both Latin terms, and you should be able to find
them in the dictionary.
if your dictionary doesn't have these terms,
you need to get a new and better one,
for "de facto" and "statu quo" are commons words in English. ;)
in international law, the opposite of "de facto" is
"de jure."
