The new Purple Line, the first rail route to connect Bangkok and Nonthaburi,
officially opened to the public on Saturday, with the Mass Rapid Transit
Authority of Thailand (MRTA) expecting it to carry some 200,000 commuters a
day in its first year.

The 23-kilometre elevated rail system is the fourth electric train line in
the country, linking Bang Yai district of Nonthaburi to the Tao Poon area of
Bangkok.

第一條連接曼谷和暖武里府的捷運紫線在週六正式營運，曼谷捷運局預測首年的日運
量達20萬

捷運紫線長23公里，端點站設在暖武里府曼派區和曼谷島本區，是泰國第4條的電氣化捷運

The new electric rail route was declared open at 3.19pm after Her Royal
Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn travelled on a train from Tao Poon
station at the end of the line to Khlong Bang Phai, the first of the project’
s 16 stations, where she presided over the ceremony to mark the official
opening.

在當地時間下午3時19分，詩琳通女王儲搭乘捷運紫線從空曼派站乘抵島本站，象徵着紫線
第一期的十六個車站正式投入營運。

The princess granted an audience to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, his
wife and senior government figures during the ride. Crowds of well-wishers,
many of them wearing purple which is the princess's birthday colour, waited
at the two stations to get a glimpse of the royal guest.

詩琳通女王儲和總理帕拉育、帕拉育妻子和高級官員一同搭乘。很多在該兩站等候的民眾
都身穿慶祝王后誕辰的紫色衣服，希望一睹皇室風彩。

The MRTA said the service could accommodate some 50,000 commuters per hour
and a maximum of 400,000 per day. However, it expects the route will serve an
average of 200,000 daily riders during the first year of operation, with the
total gradually increasing to 400,000 a day by 2019.

曼谷捷運局表示，每小時載客量可達50000人，日載客量40萬人。但在營運初年的日
載客量只有20萬人，並會在2019年前將載客量逐步提升至40萬人。

Passengers can connect with the Blue Line, or MRT, at Bang Sue station to go
to central Bangkok, with Hua Lamphong the final stop. Free passenger shuttle
buses will travel between Tao Poon station on the Purple Line and Bang Sue
station, part of the underground train sevice, until a connecting rail line
is built to cover the one-kilometre "missing link".

島本站是紫線和藍線的轉乘站，乘客可以在此轉乘藍線前往曼谷的市中心，最遠可以到達
華藍蓬車站。但藍線邦蘇站至島本站的路線還在建設中，短期內以免費的接駁車協助乘客
轉乘。

Fares for the Purple Line range from 14 to 42 baht. Parking areas for Purple
Line commuters are at Khlong Bang Phai, Sam Yaek Bang Yai, Sai Ma and Yaek
Nonthaburi 1 stations. Drivers will be charged 10 baht for two hours, or they
can buy a pass for 1,000 baht a month.

紫線的票價由14-42泰幣不等。在空曼派、賽馬和暖武里一街設有停車場，收費為2小時
10泰幣。或者用月票，售價1000泰幣。
